Regional Roundtables

The TDA Regional Roundtable Program is designed to give our members networking and educational opportunities within their regions. Roundtables are half to full day events and include a presentation, discussion, networking and lunch.  These meetings are a great way to showcase your downtown and share initiatives and strategies that have been useful in your community.

Regional Roundtables are open to both members and non-members of TDA.

Preparing for and Responding to Economic Disruptions

Friday, July 17 – 12:00 – 1:00 pm

Natural disasters, financial collapse, civil unrest, and pandemics can devastate businesses and the communities where they are located.  Economic disruptions are likely during a business life cycle, so preparing for and anticipating these events will help business survive uncertain times.  This webinar will discuss a host of elements that need to be considered when preparing businesses for potential disruptions and helping communities create a resilient economy. Presented for the Texas Downtown Association by Steve Etcher from MarksNelson.

Steve Etcher

Steve has been working with economic development organizations for more than 30 years. After spending his early years working directly for community organizations, he recognized the opportunity to support multiple communities by identifying the needs and solutions that spread across municipalities. At that point, he helped found Community EDGE, an organization created to meet economic development and location strategies needs faced by many community organizations. In 2015 Community EDGE joined forces with MarksNelson in order to increase the depth of resources available to the clients of both firms. Steve has spent countless hours advising organizations on how to support the growth of their community, partner with businesses, access resources, plan and respond to natural disasters and more. He has been called to testify before the United States House of Representatives and Missouri General Assembly and to speak at the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs.
