About TDA
History
In the late 1970s, only a handful of Texas communities had active downtown organizations. Spread throughout the state, their opportunities to learn from one another and share successes were rare. In 1985, the Texas Downtown Association was officially formed, connecting communities who were committed to downtown revitalization.
TDA TodayThe Texas Downtown Association has over 400 members involved in more than $1 billion in downtown revitalization projects. With an array of services ranging from direct assistance to a certification program, educational opportunities to grants, TDA continues to expand member benefits while maintaining one of the most competitive membership fee structures in the state.
VisionEvery community in Texas will have an economically vibrant center that reflects its unique character.
MissionThe Texas Downtown Association fosters development and revitalization to enhance the economic vitality of Texas downtowns and neighborhood commercial districts by providing resources, networking opportunities, education and advocacy.
